Working with students aged 5-24 years, you’ll provide vital support to those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, and behaviours that can be challenging. This position is available to start immediately or after April Half Term 2025, continuing through July 2025 and into the new academic year, with the potential for a permanent contract by July 2025.

The Role of a Behaviour Mentor:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll play a crucial role in fostering resilience, independence, and confidence among our students. Your role is key to helping students overcome barriers, both in learning and in life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Behavioural Support: Provide personalised one-to-one and group mentoring to students, addressing behavioural challenges with tailored strategies.

  • Behaviour Management: Develop and implement effective techniques to promote emotional regulation, positive interactions, and a calm environment.

  • Mentorship: Act as a trusted role model, instilling self-confidence, motivation, and life skills in students.

  • Crisis Intervention: Handle challenging situations with confidence, employing de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe environment.

  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents/guardians to develop and implement individualised behaviour plans.

  • Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, sharing regular updates with stakeholders.

  • Build Relationships: Establish positive and trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and families to foster a holistic approach to student development.
