The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures is looking for a resilient and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a large and inclusive secondary school in Hackney. This role will involve working closely with students who need additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to stay engaged in their education and develop positive coping strategies.
The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated behaviour support team, working alongside pastoral staff, SEN specialists, and teachers to ensure students receive the guidance they need both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring, helping students manage their behaviour and emotions
- Support students in developing positive learning habits and social skills
- Assist in the management of the school's behaviour intervention spaces, ensuring students are supported in returning to lessons
- Implement personalised behaviour strategies to help students make positive choices
- Work alongside the Heads of Year, pastoral team, and external agencies to ensure students receive tailored support
- Help maintain a calm and structured school environment, fostering student confidence and motivation
Who We're Looking For:
- Experience in behaviour support, mentoring, or pastoral roles within a secondary school setting
- Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students
- Confidence in building relationships with students and staff to create a positive learning environment
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being
Additional Information:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday
- Paid up to 125 per day, term time only
- Based in Hackney, London, with excellent transport links
- Immediate start, with potential for a long-term placement
