Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School in Enfield
Position: Behaviour MentorLocation: North London (Enfield)Contract: Full-Time, starting after February half-termDay Rate: £90 - £95 per day
We're seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in Enfield, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as those from vulnerable backgrounds or exhibiting challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored one-to-one and group mentoring to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
- Implement and support positive behaviour strategies across the school environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to deliver effective interventions.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to foster positive student engagement and attitudes towards learning.
- Monitor student progress and well-being, sharing updates with staff and parents as needed.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
- Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, or in a similar role.
- Proven ability to work with students facing SEMH challenges or from vulnerable backgrounds.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to motivate and engage young people.
- Understanding of youth work principles and experience within educational or community settings.
- A positive approach to managing challenging behaviour and creating personalised intervention strategies.
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Youth Worker.
- Knowledge of mental health support strategies and safeguarding procedures.
- Qualifications in youth work, behavioural management, or educational support.
