Our client are currently looking for a Bid Manager to join their team in their London Wall Office.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Preconstruction Director, this role will involve the preparation and production of compelling proposals in the repairs, maintenance, planned and retrofit sectors.

Proactively managing the tender production and submission process, from opportunity to submission then handover to their delivery teams, you’ll have responsibility for supporting their Preconstruction Director securing new business, aligned to the business’s strategic ambitions, ensuring sustainable growth.

You’ll manage multiple stakeholders and contributors ensuring that every proposal is well planned with a clear strategy to win. You will build relationships and engage their subject matter experts, ensuring they contribute to a timetable set by you. You will be responsible for crafting the contributions of others into compelling responses that clearly respond to the questions posed. You will manage the governance process required for any individual tender, obtaining authorisations from the Senior Leadership team and recording outcomes.

You’ll contribute to their continual push for better ways of working, improving their systems and streamlining processes.

About You

Operating within a fast-paced environment, this role requires an individual with highly developed project management and organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and deliver high quality, accurate written work to challenging deadlines. Creative thinking and solution-focused, the Bid Manager must create compelling yet practical business development and tender proposals to meet and exceed client requirements, offering innovation and added value to be competitive against others in the market. A team player and someone with excellent IT competency across Microsoft and Adobe software packages, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and InDesign.

Knowledge of the repairs and maintenance or construction industry, with previous experience of working in a busy tendering and / or estimating department, would be desirable, along with understanding of public sector procurement regulation, and industry standard forms of contract, commercial models and contract pricing methodologies.
