Job Description:

My Client have an exciting opportunity for an experienced BMS Engineer to join their growing team.

Their products are manufactured with an inbuilt controller which controls all the functions of the unit while also interfacing with an external BMS via BACnet over IP or MSTP. This packaged unit controls – valve position, fan speed, alarms, inputs and outputs - are included in one package.

Currently, the controller is by Siemens, but a broad knowledge of other systems is required.

Working alongside their Controls Engineer in Scotland, this role is London-based and will be a majority externally facing role:

  • For customer support in project design stages, as well as onsite support
  • For feedback into the technical team, product development, and technical document writing

They are seeking an engineer proficient in BMS controls, with experience in HVAC products, i.e.: valves, actuators, coils and fans. (Unit training will be provided, either onsite within our showroom in London, or in our Edinburgh Office).

In time you will be able to digest the content of the Clients Controls Manual, and to use it to provide advice either remotely or on site.

You may be asked to provide site support on mechanical/electrical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation

  • Prepare or update training documents for BMS integration, commissioning and

ability to write detailed site reports and Feedback into product evolution

  • Find opportunities for continuous improvement and capture these in Engineering Change Requests to the Technical Team
  • Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems
  • Participate in reviews and work with Technical Department colleagues to ensure proper implementation of features

General

  • Be a team player
  • Support all other areas of the company, such as Sales, After Sales, Technical, Fulfilment, Marketing and Operations
  • Comply with the company safety procedures
  • Live the company culture of integrity and professional competence
  • Provide timely and detailed status updates

About the Person

Key Skills, Competencies, and Experience:

Qualifications

  • Appropriate related degree or qualification, dependent on experience
  • Hold a valid CSCS Card

Essential
Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant project experience working with controls and automation equipment related to HVAC installations, support and troubleshooting as well as development, control strategy programming
  • Experience and skill in troubleshooting BMS control system issues
  • Competence in UK electrical regulations and standards

Skills

  • Hold a valid CSCS Card
  • Be familiar with a wide range of BMS manufacturers’ hardware, network communication systems, and software, such as Trend, Tridium, Distech and good working knowledge of Siemens products and ancillary software
  • Proficient with Siemens ABT site
  • Proficient with trouble shooting on Siemens controller DXR2-E09, and M09, and DXR2- E18, and DXR2-M18.
  • Have previously worked with or have been trained by a Siemens Value Added
  • Be able to provide technical support via remote PC
  • Be able to interrogate and modify Clients/ Siemens installations by physical presence on
  • Experience and skill in troubleshooting BMS control system issues
