We are seeking a skilled and experienced Curtain Maker to join our clients team in Central London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sewing, fabric cutting, and assembling high-quality made-to-measure curtains and soft furnishings. This role requires excellent attention to detail, precision in measuring and cutting, and the ability to work with a variety of fabrics and designs.
Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and sew fabrics to create custom-made curtains, blinds, and other soft furnishings.
- Follow design specifications and customer requirements to produce high-quality products.
- Use industrial and domestic sewing machines, overlockers, and hand-sewing techniques.
- Work with a variety of fabrics, including delicate and heavy-weight materials.
- Attach linings, headings, trims, and other decorative elements as required.
- Carry out alterations and repairs on existing curtains and soft furnishings.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
- Collaborate with the design team and clients to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain quality control standards to produce a professional finish on all products.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Curtain Maker or within a similar sewing/upholstery role.
- Strong sewing skills, including experience with industrial sewing machines.
- Ability to measure, cut, and sew with precision and accuracy.
- Knowledge of different fabric types and their handling requirements.
- Good understanding of curtain styles, heading types, and soft furnishing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Experience with hand-finishing techniques is a plus.
