Goodman Masson is proud to be partnering with the Royal Borough of Greenwich in their search for an experienced DMC Manager to lead a dedicated team in tackling damp, mould, and condensation (DMC) issues across council properties. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by improving housing conditions, ensuring compliance with legislation, and enhancing the well-being of residents.

The Role

As DMC Manager, you will oversee the assessment, prevention, and resolution of DMC issues in social housing across the borough. You will provide technical leadership, manage a team of surveyors, and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure safe and healthy living environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of surveyors, providing expert guidance on DMC-related issues.
  • Oversee property inspections, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with housing legislation, embedding best practices across the service.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams including Social Care, Public Health, Complaints, and Housing to resolve complex cases.
  • Drive service efficiency, ensuring high customer satisfaction and value for money.
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and contractor relationships to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide strategic planning and project management, particularly for capital and major works.
Who We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification (RICS, CIOB) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of housing repair and maintenance legislation within the public sector.
  • Experience in inspecting and managing DMC cases, with a technical understanding of property structures and remediation solutions.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing professional and technical teams.
  • The ability to engage with residents, councillors, and multi-disciplinary teams to drive service improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment.
