Kenton Black are working with an industry leading Sub-Contractor. We have an immediate requirement for a Depot Manager.
Based in the hire office at their North-West London depot, you will be responsible for overseeing and continuously improving all aspects of the depots operations and profitability. Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitate daily operations: Based in the hire office, you will manage the transport schedule and work closely with the workshop, warehouse, and driving teams to coordinate our service delivery.
- Deliver exceptional customer service: Ensure we provide outstanding service by being responsive to our customers and resolving any issues promptly.
- Lead your team: Foster a fun, professional, and supportive environment through regular communication and coaching, ensuring staff feel motivated and fulfilled.
- Manage stock levels: Anticipate future demand, maintain optimum stock levels, and ensure a smooth flow of maintenance and repairs to keep equipment in top condition.
- Enhance communication quality: Continuously monitor and improve the quality of staff interactions across various channels, including phone, email, messaging platforms, and the trade counter.
- Ensure accurate administration: Maintain the organisation and accuracy of all depot administration, with particular attention to anything sensitive, such as damages and losses.
- Collaborate with sales: Work closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and nurture strong customer relationships.
- Maintain a safe and organised environment: Uphold a safe, clean, and lean working environment, ensuring compliance with HAE SafeHire and FORS Silver certifications.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience of managing a team within the tool, plant or access hire industry
- The enthusiasm to learn about our business and range of equipment
- An instinct to build great relationships with the depot team and customers
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- A good level of numeracy, literacy, and IT skill
- A sense of humour
- Working hours are 07:30 17:00 Monday to Friday
