Are you an experienced Designer with expertise in facades and cladding systems? Our client, a principal contractor with over 20 years of excellence in the construction industry, specializes in high-value, compliant cladding remediation and regeneration contracts. They are seeking a skilled Designer to contribute to critical projects across London and the Southeast.

Responsibilities:

  • Create drawings using relevant specifications where company design standards are applicable.

  • Conduct site visits (3-4 days per week) to perform surveys, capture photos, and gather data for drawing creation.

  • Collaborate with Estimating, Commercial, and Site Management teams throughout project lifecycles to address design and quality issues.

  • Liaise with manufacturers, external structural engineers, and architects to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Respond to technical queries, make recommendations to resolve issues, and escalate to the Design and Quality Manager as needed.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, monitoring, and revision of assigned drawings, ensuring they meet project requirements.

  • Distribute relevant documentation to manufacturers and project teams, maintaining clear communication channels.

  • Occasionally assist with site inspections to monitor technical quality and ensure compliance with specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.

  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to the Design and Quality Manager.

  • Support site teams by ensuring information is available from project initiation to completion.

Key Tasks:

  • Attend planned and ad-hoc site visits to ensure technical quality and address design concerns.

  • Measure and monitor the delivery of KPIs for site management and subcontractors.

  • Assist the Design and Quality Manager with training and advising site teams and subcontractors.

  • Participate in regular site and client design meetings, providing updates and actionable solutions.

  • Collate relevant information to ensure compliance with standards, sharing with clients and funders as appropriate.

Skills And Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Architect-related studies or equivalent experience.

  • CSCS card holder (basic level).

  • Essential experience in facades, EWI, cladding, and rainscreen systems.

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (3D AutoCAD/SketchUp/Revit desirable).

  • Competent user of MS Excel, MS Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
