Job Description

As the Director of Gastroenterology, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of the department, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, efficiency, and compliance. You will play a crucial role in maintaining financial sustainability, workforce development, and quality improvement in alignment with CQC regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational management of the Gastroenterology department, ensuring seamless service delivery and efficiency.
  • Manage departmental finances, including budgeting, financial planning, and cost control to maintain sustainability.
  • Drive performance and quality improvements, ensuring that the highest standards of patient care and safety are met.
  • Lead workforce management, including staff recruitment, training, and professional development to foster a skilled and motivated team.
  • Ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and uphold all relevant clinical governance standards.
  • Develop and implement training programmes to enhance clinical and administrative expertise within the department.

Person Requirements

Our Client is looking for a results-driven and experienced professional with a passion for excellence in gastroenterology and healthcare management. The ideal candidate will possess:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of gastroenterology, digestive diseases, colorectal conditions, diagnostic tests, and outpatient procedures.
  • Proven experience in healthcare management, including administration, operations, and commercial strategy.
  • A clinical background is preferred, with experience working in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Relevant management qualifications to support leadership and operational excellence.
  • In-depth understanding of CQC regulations and experience managing compliance within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data, drive improvements, and implement effective strategies.
  • Exceptional planning, organisational, and delegation skills to manage multiple priorities and lead a multidisciplinary team effectively.
