Allen & York are excited to be working with a prestigious charity based in London, working to restore nature by engaging, inspiring, and enabling people to connect with nature in their local communities.

Our client is looking for a dedicated Director of Nature Recovery. The successful candidate will play a pivotal leadership role, overseeing key departments including the Nature Recovery teams, Planning and External Affairs and Youth programmes.

You'll hold a degree or relevant qualification in environmental science, ecology or similar with extensive understanding and technical knowledge of ecology and nature conservation relevant to a large city. With proven experience of working at the intersection between the private, public and charity sectors, you'll be able to demonstrate your leadership skills in the development of policy and practice relating to nature conservation, nature recovery and biodiversity net gain and the legislation that underpins it.

You'll have proven experience of working with or commissioning multidisciplinary consultancies to achieve gains for nature in the built environment and of leading political advocacy and lobbying for nature conservation and recovery. An excellent communicator, you'll possess strong people management and leadership skills and enjoy working collaboratively, facilitating the work of a growing department.
