Director of QA – Financial Services – Up to £120k + package – Central London Overview:We have recently partnered with a leading Financial Services organisation who are currently recruiting for a Director of QA to lead the QA strategy and operations, ensuring the highest quality standards across all products. Their mission is to empower people with high-quality information, helping them make informed decisions in finance. You’ll be joining a vibrant and innovative team with a strong presence in the UK, based in Central London, working alongside global teams to create impactful solutions.Role & Responsibilities:Strategy, Processes, Operations:
  • Develop and execute a company-wide QA strategy aligned with business goals, ensuring efficiency in cost, schedule, and performance metrics
  • Identify risks impacting product quality, and work with cross-functional teams to improve QA processes
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement in the QA function
  • Effectively oversee and coordinate daily operations of the QA teams
Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Testing:
  • Champion QA practices, from bug tracking and CI/CD processes to introducing innovative testing frameworks
  • Enhance and modernize QA tools and methodologies, ensuring the best use of automation, security, and performance testing
  • Implement metrics to monitor product health and ensure optimal team performance
  • Lead and manage documenting practices within the reporting teams to create comprehensive documentation, for both internal and external purposes
Team Management:
  • Lead and develop QA teams of 100+ employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
  • Participate in recruitment, development, and retention efforts to maintain a skilled and knowledgeable team
  • Support the company’s HR strategy by implementing best practices in team management and employee development
Other:
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and other relevant procedures for direct reports
  • Manage available human resources and forecast necessary changes to meet targets and business needs
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, quality control, or testing
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a QA environment
  • Familiar with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and modern QA processes including automated and load testing
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira) and documentation systems (e.g., Confluence)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Previous experience in a similar industry is preferred but not essential
