We are delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Director of Sport to join this Client, a high-achieving, faith-based secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This full-time position is set to commence in January 2025 and offers a salary on the London MPS/UPS Pay Scale Leadership scale (L3 onwards).

The Role: As the Director of Sport, you will be responsible for leading the school's physical education department and co-curricular sports activities. Your duties will include:

  • Designing and implementing an inspiring PE curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Driving student engagement in sports, fostering teamwork, discipline, and excellence.
  • Organising and promoting inter-school sports events and competitions.
  • Managing departmental resources and budgets effectively.
  • Mentoring and developing staff within the department.
  • Contributing to the overall ethos and strategic direction of the school.

Qualifications and Person Specification: The successful candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading sports initiatives in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A passion for promoting physical education and inclusive sports programs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students.
