DT Teacher (Resistant Materials) / KS3/4/5 / Outstanding School / Wandsworth

Are you an enthusiastic DT Teacher (Resistant Materials) who is motivated with a passion for changing the lives of young people?

Future Education are currently looking to recruit a DT Teacher who specialises in teaching Resistant Materials and can teach up to A-level. This role will be based in the Wandsworth area in a mixed school that is part of a well-known Academy trust. Ofsted has rated the school as ‘Outstanding’ so you know you will be in good hands. This is a full-time and permanent role for September 2025.

Role expectation:

  • Preparing materials and resources for lessons and projects using workshop machinery and equipment
  • Carrying out maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment in the classrooms and prep rooms ensuring safety and reliability in line with Health and Safety requirements
  • Providing in-class support including leading practical demonstrations and specialty class activity
  • Undertaking general workshop maintenance and DIY tasks including the building of new equipment and alterations to existing equipment.

Requirements:

  • QTS or QTLS is needed
  • NQTs/ECTs will also be accepted
  • Experience teaching DT (Resistant Materials) at GCSE level
  • Clean and current enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Up to date Safeguarding training
  • Exceptional communication skills, energy and a positive ‘hands on’ attitude
