We are seeking a dynamic and organised DT Technician to join our thriving secondary school in Lewisham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact in education and gain hands-on experience in a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting DT teachers in preparing and setting up equipment and materials for lessons, including woodwork, metalwork, electronics, and textiles.
  • Maintaining and managing DT tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure they are in safe working order.
  • Supporting students during practical sessions, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Ordering and maintaining stock levels of materials, tools, and resources.
  • Helping to maintain a clean and organised workshop.
  • Assisting with health and safety checks and ensuring that all equipment meets safety standards.
  • Supporting in the creation of teaching aids and displays for the DT department.
Requirements:
  • A passion for Design & Technology with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage workload efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both staff and students.
  • Previous technician experience is preferred but not essential-full training will be provided.
  • A DBS on the Update Service is essential.
