Design & Technology (DT) Technician - Full-Time, Immediate Start

Our welcoming and dynamic secondary school in Southwark is seeking a full-time Design & Technology (DT) Technician to join our team immediately! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work in a school environment and contribute to the hands-on development of students' technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist DT teachers in preparing materials, tools, and equipment for lessons.
  • Support students during practical lessons, ensuring safety and guidance in using machinery and tools.
  • Maintain and monitor DT equipment and machinery, ensuring it is safe and operational.
  • Organise and manage stock levels of materials for projects (e.g., wood, metal, plastic).
  • Carry out routine checks, maintenance, and cleaning of workshop tools and machinery.
  • Ensure the Design & Technology workshop complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Help with creating an inspiring and organised learning environment.
Requirements:
  • A keen interest in Design & Technology with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of DT tools and machinery (training can be provided).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team and support teaching staff and students effectively.
  • Previous experience as a DT Technician is preferred but not essential.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service is required or willingness to obtain one before starting.
