A fantastic secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Design & Technology Technician to join their team immediately. This is a great opportunity for a practical, organised, and enthusiastic individual who is keen to support students and teachers in the DT department.

Role Overview

As a DT Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the Design & Technology department. You will support teaching staff by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all practical lessons run safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons
  • Setting up and maintaining workshop tools, machinery, and resources
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are met at all times
  • Supporting teachers during practical sessions
  • Assisting students with the correct use of equipment and tools
  • Managing stock levels and placing orders for new materials
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
Requirements
  • A DBS on the Update Service is essential
  • Previous technician experience is preferred but not required - training will be provided
  • A passion for Design & Technology, engineering, or a related subject
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment is beneficial
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
