My client is an independent and forward-thinking multi-disciplinary consultancy which provides exceptional planning, design, and environmental services across the United Kingdom, underpinned by regional knowledge, service-specific expertise, and strong client relationships. They have delivered some of the most significant infrastructure projects at a national scale. 

To support their ongoing growth, we are looking for new members of the team to deliver excellence in supporting their clients on new infrastructure projects. 

The Role:

As an EIA Consultant, you'd have the responsibility of being the key point of contact for clients, delivering planning advice on planning applications and projects supported by a brilliant wider team. You would be skilled in Environmental Project Management working with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities in the role:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience of undertaking EIA as part of the Development Consent Order process
  • You will be competent in preparing and submitting EIA reports
  • The role will involve conducting research and undertaking comprehensive planning appraisals to establish the development potential of sites.
  • You will have experience and capability in writing high quality reports with clear recommendations.
  • You will be comfortable in preparing fee proposals (with support from your line manager) to generate new business. 
  • You'd be able to communicate with all project stakeholders involved in the planning process and negotiating positive outcomes for the client.
  • Working with the Finance Partner for your discipline, you'd will be developing and refining commercials, fee proposals and client relationships to generate new opportunities with existing clients.

Your background:

  • Ideally, you would have an environmental or related degree.
  • It is desirable that you will be chartered or on the journey to becoming chartered (through CIWEM, CIEEM, IEMA)
  • You thrive on working on broad and technical projects, delivering to a high standard for clients.
  • You will have competent EIA technical and legislative knowledge and experience and most likely understanding of one or more environmental technical areas, ideally from a planning led background.
