TPP is working with a leading professional membership and awarding body for the healthcare sector in the UK to appoint an Exams Quality and Standards Manager.

As the Exams Quality and Standards Manager, you'll support the quality and integrity of exams, helping to produce high-calibre healthcare professionals. You'll oversee a comprehensive quality assurance framework and lead a dedicated team, ensuring that the organisation's exams meet regulatory standards and are recognised as the gold standard in the field. This role also requires managing examiners and collaborating with varied stakeholders to advance our commitment to delivering fair, reliable, and accessible exams.

Our client is a leading name in the education and professional development of healthcare professionals, with their exams function being a critical area for strategic growth and continuous improvement. Joining a dedicated team of 20 within a 129-strong organisation, you will play an integral part in supporting healthcare advancement and maintaining the organisation's gold standard of qualification.

About the role - Exams Quality and Standards Manager:

As the Exams Quality and Standards Manager, you will:

  • Develop and maintain a robust quality assurance framework, meeting both regulatory and best-practice standards.
  • Manage and motivate a team responsible for exam quality, including the recruitment, training, and performance monitoring of over 200 examiners.
  • Oversee exam content, ensuring excellence in question setting, marking, and quality control.
  • Provide data insights for various stakeholders, including the GMC, GDC, and internal Committees, ensuring compliance with exam regulations.
  • Act as the strategic owner of exam delivery systems, collaborating with suppliers to ensure functionality that supports exam integrity and candidate experience.

Key responsibilities - Exams Quality and Standards Manager:

  • Quality assurance: Design and implement industry-standard quality controls, addressing regulatory requirements and emerging practices.
  • Team leadership: Guide a high-performing team, ensuring measurable progress and positive engagement through quality improvements.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build effective relationships with stakeholders, managing examiner interactions, appeals, and misconduct cases with integrity.
  • System management: Lead the development and management of exam delivery systems, ensuring robust functionality in content production and data reporting.
  • Data management: Analyse and interpret data to support decision-making, ensure fairness, and report to key regulatory bodies and committees.

Skills / Experience required - Exams Quality and Standards Manager:

  • Demonstrable experience in quality assurance within exams, education, or assessment settings.
  • Strong people management skills with experience leading teams and managing examiner relationships.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive operational efficiencies and quality improvements.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and a positive attitude toward continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of psychometric principles (desirable) and experience with a range of IT platforms supporting exams.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity, aligning with the organisation's values and standards.

Interview process:

  • Interviews will be held in person on 27th and 28th November 2024(TBC).
  • The interview will include a presentation and psychometric testing to assess managerial judgement and critical thinking.
