About the Role

As a Financial R&D Consultant, youll collaborate with clients across the tech, engineering, and science sectors, assisting them in navigating the R&D tax credit process. Your work will range from financial analysis to uncovering eligible activities, working directly with C-suite leaders and technical teams to create strong, compliant claims. Additionally, youll support an Enquiry Defence team, helping clients resolve HMRC compliance checks if needed. Working Hours

This role offers flexible working hours (08:00-17:00 or 09:00-18:00, Monday to Friday) with a hybrid setup, combining remote work with a few days a week in their Central London office. This setup provides you with the best of both worlds flexible hours and in-person collaboration with the team.

Key Duties

  • Provide expert guidance on R&D tax legislation and its application across different sectors
  • Collaborate with C-suite executives and technical teams to prepare fully compliant R&D tax credit claims
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure financial and technical details are precisely documented
  • Support clients during HMRC compliance checks, providing expertise to resolve related queries
  • Attend meetings, contribute to process improvements, and provide insights on funding challenges

Key Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in a fast-paced R&D tax consultancy, with a strong grasp of UK R&D tax credit laws
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Analytical skills with a keen interest in technology and innovation
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of CIRD and BIS guidelines, with experience in applying these to claims
  • Confident managing deadlines and balancing multiple priorities without compromising quality
