- Fleet Management: Oversee a fleet mixed HGV and non-HGV vehicles, including scheduling, allocation, and maintenance coordination.
- Logistics Planning: Plan and execute vehicle movement schedules to support the needs of various departments, including TV and radio production.
- Supplier Liaison: Work closely with vehicle suppliers, repair shops, and fuel providers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet legal requirements, including MOT, insurance, and road safety standards.
- Budget Control: Manage and report on transport costs, optimising efficiency while keeping within budgetary constraints.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate and supervise a small team of drivers and administrative staff, ensuring clear communication and smooth operations.
- Problem-Solving: Provide quick, effective solutions to transport-related issues that arise, minimising downtime and disruption to production.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, driver hours, and delivery times.
Profile
- Proven experience in scheduling or logistics, preferably in an HGV environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with scheduling software and tools.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected changes.
