The Fleet Scheduler will be responsible for planning and coordinating the driver and maintenance schedules of the fleet to ensure optimal fleet utilisation and compliance. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Description

  • Fleet Management: Oversee a fleet mixed HGV and non-HGV vehicles, including scheduling, allocation, and maintenance coordination.
  • Logistics Planning: Plan and execute vehicle movement schedules to support the needs of various departments, including TV and radio production.
  • Supplier Liaison: Work closely with vehicle suppliers, repair shops, and fuel providers to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet legal requirements, including MOT, insurance, and road safety standards.
  • Budget Control: Manage and report on transport costs, optimising efficiency while keeping within budgetary constraints.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate and supervise a small team of drivers and administrative staff, ensuring clear communication and smooth operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide quick, effective solutions to transport-related issues that arise, minimising downtime and disruption to production.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, driver hours, and delivery times.

Profile

  • Proven experience in scheduling or logistics, preferably in an HGV environment.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected changes.
