We are currently recruiting a talented FP&A Analyst for our client, a leading global insurer offering world-class insurance and reinsurance services in all major markets. Their finance team consists of approximately 140 employees, with this position sitting within their Finance Performance/Syndicate UK & MENA team, consisting of 8 persons (CFO, 2 Senior Managers and a mix of 5 Business Partners and Analysts).

This is a very varied team in day-to-day activity so position would suit a FP&A analyst who enjoys a large variety of work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. They are also passionate about career progression, with one of the senior managers in the team previously working in this analyst position, so this additionally offers a great opportunity for candidates who are passionate about advancing their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support London CFO and BP Managers with key business stakeholders and their direct reports.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the business areas under the team's remit.
  • Support global products through building a network across GRS.
  • Contribute to the month-end and quarter-end reporting processes.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of Pillar's and Syndicate results.
  • Produce and develop financial analysis for Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Present and explain financial analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Assist in the business planning process.
  • Coordinate collection and review of business plan inputs.
  • Review all areas of US GAAP plan/forecast.
  • Prepare financial plan exhibits for senior management.
  • Support with analysis on ad hoc tasks, projects, and initiatives.

Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and UK GAAP.
  • Experience performing within a high-pressure and fast paced environment.
  • Suitable FP&A experience.
  • High level of communication skills.
  • Proven self-starter.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the wider finance team.
  • Ability to independently resolve issues.
  • Experience in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Preferred but not essential:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA
  • Knowledge of Syndicate Reporting.
  • Good level of insurance accounting and industry knowledge.
  • Experience with Microsoft BI, SAP, and Anaplan is an asset.
  • Experience with advanced data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, R, Python) is an asset.
