A high-performing multi-billion dollar Hedge Fund is seeking a FRONT OFFICE Python Developer (TOP HEDGE FUND!) to join their Tech Team to manage risk levels.This individual will work on the build-out of risk management processes and analysis, then transition into the front office trading technology quantitative development team.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative finance, data analysis, and econometrics/statistics, as well as programming skills in Python and other object-oriented languages.Additionally, they should be familiar with financial datasets and hedge fund strategies, and able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical members of the business.

This individual will work alongside members of our Technology team to support and develop the applications that support the business:

  • Provide second and third level support to globally deployed applications being used by the London business teams.
  • Provide software development resources to the global Core Technology Development team.
  • Work with other Technology teams to deliver solutions.
  • Assist with the migration of legacy software to their future state applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Address application issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide a local contact for the business for the Core Technology Team, capturing requests so they can prioritized and addressed.
  • Maintain and develop applications that support the business globally.
  • Provide local application support and escalate as necessary to the global team.
  • Ensure the applications and procedures in use are documented.
  • Follow established workflows and procedures to ensure consistent delivery.

Required Background and Knowledge * 5+ years of experience in a relevant role.

  • Financial Environment (preferably hedge fund) Front Office or Middle office full stack experience is highly preferable.
  • Experience with 3rd party applications integration (API, FTP, Message queue, etc.).
  • Experience with electronic execution - working with the FIX trading protocol used as a standard by execution management systems.
  • Prior experience developing in PYTHON
  • Experience with DB: SQL, MS SQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of the following would be a plus:
    • Ideal MiFID II Regulatory reporting MiFID II. o Risk Solution providers. o EMS, OMS, PMS solutions.
    • Bloomberg, Reuters and various other Market Data vendors.
    • Data analytics experience.
    • Agile development practices (e.g. continuous delivery, source control).
Technologies
  • Cloud (AWS).
  • Rapid Development (RAD).
  • Messaging / Data Streaming solution (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Database Admin.
  • Linux exposure.
  • REST API.
Good To Have Languages
  • Python: Pandas, Numpy, FastAPI, data manipulation.
  • Web: JS, HTML, CSS, FE framework (React, angular or similar).
  • Ex
  • Scala, Clojure, Groovy or other functional language.
