Full Stack Engineer
Location: Hybrid / London (up to 2 days a week)
Contract Length: 12 months
Day Rate: £400 Outside IR35
Start Date: ASAP
Understanding Solutions is looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to support a critical replatforming project for one of our public sector clients. You'll join a tech modernisation team tasked with transforming the company's platform and contributing to its evolution, ensuring it meets the demands of modern technology and public sector needs.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernise and replatform a critical public sector application.
- Develop scalable, robust solutions using Java, Spring, and Vue.js.
- Contribute to backend and frontend development, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues across the stack.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and agile ceremonies to deliver high-quality results.
Experience Needed:
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with a strong understanding of Java and the Spring framework.
- Experience in modern frontend frameworks, particularly Vue.js.
- Experience with replatforming or modernisation projects in complex environments.
- A strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Familiarity with public sector projects or regulated environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, ensuring effective teamwork.
