Deputy Director of Fundraising
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: North London with hybrid working available (2 days per week in the office)
Salary: circa £55,000k

Solace Women's Aid for 50 years have supported women and children in London to build safe and strong lives. With a strong focus on statutory income generation and fundraising, this team plays a pivotal role in creating sustainable solutions and fostering lasting change in the community.
As the Deputy Director of Fundraising, you will lead our client's fundraising and statutory income generation teams including grants and tenders, developing innovative strategies to generate unrestricted funds through individual giving, corporate partnerships and community initiatives. This role is situated within the Business Development Directorate, working alongside their award-winning communications, partnerships and public affairs teams. You will be a key member of the senior leadership team working collaboratively to achieve income growth and wider organisational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the implementation of an income growth strategy to create and maintain diverse and sustainable income stream in line with challenging retention, new business and fundraising targets.
- Cultivate and manage strong relationships with corporates, major donors, trust and foundations to secure funding with a focus on multi-year partnerships.
- Identify and develop new opportunities of fundraising and write high quality and persuasive bids and tenders.
- Manage and inspire a high performing team and lead a collaborative approach to relationship management with colleagues across the organisation.
- Represent the organisation with key decision makers and attend networking events and meetings.
- Ensure all fundraising activities are compliant with legislation and the fundraising regulatory environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Significant experience in statutory income fundraising and generating income across diverse revenue streams including grants, tenders, corporate partnerships, individual giving and community initiatives.
- Proven track record of managing six and seven figure accounts.
- Strong track record in wider business development.
- Demonstrable success of identifying and developing fundraising opportunities with the ability to react and adjust to a challenging and changing fundraising environment.
- Experience of operating at a senior leadership level with the ability to inspire and motivate a fundraising and income generation team.
- Experience of developing and implementing innovative strategies to meet with fundraising targets.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop stakeholder relationships and influence across varying levels and to write compelling presentations to senior managers and potential donors.
- Experience, knowledge and awareness of the violence against women and girls (VAWG) sector advantageous.
- Qualifications and membership of the Institute of Fundraising are advantageous but not essential.
