About Us:Veritas Education are currently recruiting for our clients Games Design Department. The school are at the forefront of developing the skillset of individuals with additional needs. We are looking for people who are passionate about creating the next generation of interactive experiences. We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and knowledgeable Games Design Lecturer to join our academic team and contribute to our growing department.

Position Overview:We are looking for an enthusiastic Games Design Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of game design. You will bring both your academic expertise and real-world industry experience to help students develop the skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving games industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lectures, seminars, and tutorials in games design, covering topics such as game mechanics, narrative design, game theory, UX/UI, and 3D modeling.
  • Develop and implement curriculum and course materials relavant to the students needs and interests.
  • Promote safety, wellbeing and safeguarding (CPOMS)
  • Provide mentorship and academic support to students, guiding them through their individual and group projects.
  • Assess student work fairly and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and industry developments in game design.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to research, and collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the Games Design Department and its programs.

  • Highly motivated and a drive to succeed and in helping those around them succeed
  • Ambitious and committed to meeting targets, settings standards of behaviour and learning expectations
  • Empathy toward the challenges faced by the young adults they will be working with
  • Visual scripting/programming skills
  • A passion for games and the gaming industry, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Maths and English GSCE Grade 4/C or equivalent (level 2)
  • Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area
