Our client specializes in the development of utility scale renewable energy assets with their in house functions covering land, planning, development, project management, and engineering. With a project pipeline of close to 3GW, as well as a strong investment partnership - you can rest assured that you will see your projects through from inception all the way to fruition!They are looking to bring in a GIS Specialist for their team. This position will in the main support the land/development team as well as providing assistance to the grid side of the team when needed. This is a crucial position for ensuring project viability and will have a hand in the overall project development lifecycle.Your role would include:> Visualizing spatial data from potential sites to identify constraints (SSSIs, water courses, protected land) that would impact upon site viability.> Perform site feasibility assessments using GIS - mapping out topography, land access etc.> Use grid capacity data to outline target areas of land alongside the grid team.> Land referencing and land registry data analysis.> Upskilling members of the team on useful GIS functions that can be applied to project lifecycles.This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is currently looking to apply their GIS experience to one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK - or someone already working on renewables projects who is looking for the developer-side transition rather than a consultancy environment.Apply to learn more!Piper Maddox is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
