Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • In-depth understanding of the software development process and overall project life cycle using HCl/Lotus Notes/Domino (Essential)
  • Notes Client Application Development (versions 8.5/9.x - V12) and Lotus Script (Essential)
  • Able to understand customer requirements (Essential)
  • Excellent business acumen and client facing skills (Essential)
  • Able to work to tight timescales, be commercially aware, and have the ability to work well within a team structure (Essential)
  • Ability to quickly react to situations whilst maintaining a high quality of work (Essential)
  • Self-starter with a "can do, will do" attitude (Essential)
  • Good problem solver (Essential)
  • A structured and methodical approach, with excellent attention to detail (Essential)
  • Unit Testing (Essential)
  • Oracle & SQL Server Integration in Unix and Windows Environments (Desirable)
  • Integration Architecture and Solution Design (Desirable)
  • Web Services (Desirable)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Specify business requirements for new and existing software applications
  • Support the Delivery Team through the Software Development Lifecycle to a successful outcome
  • Design technical solutions to new/changes to existing software applications
  • Code and unit test new and existing software applications
  • Review coding and test software written by other members of the systems development team
  • Maintain documentation relating to developed applications to aid future maintainability
  • Assist in production support matters where necessary (i.e. when referred to development)
  • Liaise with line management and others to determine work required to complete programming tasks
  • Adhere to agreed programming standards
  • Recommend changes to internal standards and/or procedures where appropriate
