Cedar Recruitment are delighted to be working collaboratively with a leading Non departmental Government Body, who put the needs of their communities first. We are looking for a passionate Head of Category who is keen embark on the organisations exiting transformational journey and drive change.

You will be working for one of the largest organisations on the industry, in the early stages of their transformation by helping to shape the function and bringing more of a streamlined procurement process.

The Head of Category will report into the Head of Commercial and the role is responsible for leading around 5 members of staff within the ICT Category team across procurement and contract management to ensure the best value for money and a forward thinking, commercial approach.

You have the chance to shape and develop multi-year category plans aligning with the organisations transformation plan and ensuring these are delivered across the team. Working within an environment in a fast paced and reactive market you will be possess proactive stakeholder management with timely decision making based on procurement data and MI analysis and resolving risks and issues to meet the function's performance targets.

To be considered you will need....

  • Experience of working on large scale procurement projects across the ICT Category
  • Extensive experience of managing procurement projects to PCR2015
  • You will have experience of leading large scale teams and inspiring others to be resilient during busy project demands and changing priorities.
  • You will need to possess hands-on and leadership experience in this field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in order to manage multiple stakeholders, ensure there is a commercial focus across the team on delivering sustainable, and innovative commercial solutions that mitigate risks and work efficiently
