The Opportunity

QBE Europe is looking to recruit a Head of Change to join a well-established and successful Transformation and Technology team in our London office. The Head of Change will be responsible for end-to-end accountability for IT Change Delivery within the portfolio of each of the relevant Business Units.  The primary focus of this role is to shape and design an IT roadmap that aligns and delivers the Business Units strategic goals and outcomes.

This role includes accountability for strategic portfolio planning, programme management, governance, resource allocation and budget responsibility, alongside managing senior stakeholder relationships.

The scope of this role includes accountability to ensure that all change delivery and design decision are aligned to QBE delivery standards and enterprise architecture. This role will have the responsibility to drive new ways of working and continuous improvement to meet delivery of the change roadmap and be scalable for the future demand.

Your new role

  • Forge strong relationships with key stakeholders to champion and influence the adoption of IT Change solutions and services 

  • You will be accountable for shaping and designing the IT Change Portfolio activity, creating a roadmap of business cases, and projects to deliver strategic business outcomes.

  • Facilitate and identify change opportunities, secure resources, including third party resources where required, to ensure a timely and on budget programme delivery

  • You will implement delivery metrics, controls, reporting and best practices to ensure Change Portfolio is in alignment with the divisional strategy and QBE project management methodologies.

  • Drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement, motivation, collaboration, empowerment and entrepreneurialism within the train and Business Unit.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Business Unit leads, Transformation and Technology teams and external stakeholders to champion and influence the adoption of Change activity.

About you

  • Have significant experience in Project / Program / Portfolio management of technical and business change in complex and / or global organisation.

  • Experience of negotiating and influencing executive level sponsors

  • Can demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with all levels across the Business and IT.

  • Experienced of managing cross functional teams and matrix management

  • Proven experience of interpreting business strategy and translating this into IT Change programme delivery.

  • Significant experience in the insurance industry would be preferred.
