Reed Banking are currently hiring for a new role – Head of Credit with a growing international bank based in London. This pivotal role involves overseeing the institution's Credit Department, establishing robust credit policies, and managing credit quality. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in credit analysis within the financial sector, with a preference for expertise in aviation and shipping project finance
Main Functions of the Job:
- Develop and uphold comprehensive credit policies, internal credit approval procedures, and credit quality control monitoring systems.
- Lead the Credit Department, focusing on the analysis of credit applications, administration of credit limits, and reporting any excesses to Management.
- Serve as a voting member on both the Risk Committee and the Credit Committee.
Key Tasks:
- Manage the Branch’s risk portfolio by establishing appropriate limits covering the one-obligor concept as well as geographical and industrial risks.
- Conduct credit reviews as necessary and continuously assess all pre-approved or other limits for appropriateness.
- Deliver monthly reports to the Risk Committee on all relevant aspects of credit management, both verbally and in written form.
- Coordinate with the Head of Middle Office to implement relevant new or amended regulations affecting the Credit Department.
- Provide backup support to Credit Analysts and/or Credit Administration Officer as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record in Credit Analysis, preferably within an international Banking environment (AFB)
- Experience in aviation and ship project finance, with a strong ability to analyse and assess credit risks specific to these sectors.
- Deep understanding of financial analysis, credit structuring, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Knowledge of credit policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in financial modelling tools and credit rating systems.
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to mentor and support team members.
