Head of Employee Relations and Transformation (6 month Contract)
Remote with occasional travel to London or Bristol office
£57000 (pro-rata)
Our client is a well-regarded charity with around 100 employees, which is going through a period of transformation. They urgently require an experienced Head of ER and Transformation to lead a small, highly competent team of HR professionals, and drive that change through in a collaborative and sensitive manner.
This role will focus on the key areas below:
Restructures and Organisational Design
- Lead organisational restructuring projects, design and implement effective organisational structures to align with business objectives.
- Ensure smooth transitions during change processes, minimising disruption and maintaining employee engagement.
Trade Union Management
- Lead collective consultation, all processes relating to and part of this
- Act as the primary point of contact for trade union representatives, negotiate and consult effectively on behalf of the organisation regarding collective agreements and workforce changes.
- Handle union disputes, ensuring fair outcomes and maintaining compliance with legal obligations.
Employee Relations:
- Oversee complex employee relations cases, ensuring compliance with employment law and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on grievance, disciplinary, and performance management issues.
Leadership and Management of HR Team
- Provide day-to-day leadership and provide day-to-day leadership and support to the HR team, ensuring delivery of HR services aligned with organisational goals.
- Mentor and develop HR team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the administration of core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and compliance.
- Ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date, legally compliant, and effectively implemented.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role, in a unionised environment and where they have dealt with complex and confidential employee relations cases. A current DBS would be a bonus but is not essential. You will also be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and experience, and have a proactive, tactful approach to Employee relations.
