Merrifield Consultants are delighted to partner with the fantastic Refugees at Home to find their new Head of Fundraising, who will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the fundraising strategy. They believe that no one seeking sanctuary in the UK should be left without shelter. By providing temporary accommodation through their network of generous volunteer hosts, they play a crucial role in preventing homelessness and offering stability to those in need.Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase donor acquisition, retention, and income generation, working alongside the CEO to establish key areas of growth that align with our charity strategy.
  • Maintain and further grow support from Trusts and Foundations, providing compelling and comprehensive reporting as required.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors, ensuring personalised and effective stewardship.
  • Focus on the recruitment and retention of high-net-worth individuals, building strong, lasting relationships.
  • Plan and implement fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events to maximise income from individual giving, collaborating frequently with the Fundraising Coordinator and Communications Manager.
  • Mentor and support the Fundraising Coordinator, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Work closely with the wider team to identify and pursue fundraising bids and opportunities.

Experience and Qualities

  • Proven experience in leadership fundraising role and a strong track record of achieving fundraising targets and growing donor bases.
  • Demonstrable experience in establishing and managing new fundraising programmes.
  • Background in trusts and foundations, with the ability to transfer skills across different fundraising methods.
  • A natural networker who is at ease stewarding funders from various backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven.
  • Creative and innovative in approach to fundraising.
