The Advocate Group is working with an industry leading FMCG company, home to a plethora of household brands. They are now looking and is looking for a fantastic Head of Procurement, Packaging to join them. You will play a pivotal role in the continued success of the Packaging Category.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will put together a 3-year plan to save at least 3.5% a year by adjusting materials or having good talks with suppliers.
- You will create a simple sustainability plan with R&D to hit their goals and stand out from the crowd.
- You will develop an innovation plan with R&D to add real value for consumers in your main areas.
- You will have a solid plan to keep the supply chain running smoothly and avoid any bumps along the way.
- You will work on boosting cash flow across the board (like with payables and finished goods stocks).
- You will build solid relationships with key suppliers so you can show off your size and get first dibs on their sustainability and innovation programs.
- You will help the team out with contract issues if any major service or quality problems come up.
- You will take the lead on budgeting for packaging and key costs (like labour, energy, and chemicals) with Global Procurement.
- You will ensure all negotiations and supply deals go smoothly, and you will handle contracts for local sub-categories.
Your Experience
- Proven success within a senior procurement with a track record of running at least one category at a regional or global level
- Experience within a blue-chip or equivalent business
- Experience with the packaging category, including R&D and sustainability
- Good at handling ambiguity in a complex, multicultural environment
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Natural leadership and influence skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Comfortable with hands-on operations while also thinking about long-term strategy
