About the Role

As the HLTA in the SEN hub, you will:

  • Lead the SEN Hub: Oversee and coordinate support for children with mild to severe needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, SEMH, and physical disabilities.
  • Provide 1:1 Support: Work closely with children requiring tailored interventions, including a child who uses a wheelchair.
  • Cover Lessons: Step into the classroom as needed, ensuring smooth delivery of lessons in the absence of the teacher.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Support teachers, parents, and other TAs to develop and implement individual learning plans.
  • Use Specialist Skills: Utilise your experience with manual handling, hoist training, and Team Teach strategies to provide comprehensive support.
Requirements
  • HLTA qualification (essential).
  • Significant experience working with children with SEN in either mainstream or SEN schools.
  • Expertise in supporting children with Autism, SEMH, and physical disabilities.
  • Knowledge of manual handling, hoist training, or similar skills (desirable).
  • Proficiency in behavior management techniques such as Team Teach (preferred).
  • A caring, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
