About the RoleAs the HLTA in the SEN hub, you will:
- Lead the SEN Hub: Oversee and coordinate support for children with mild to severe needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, SEMH, and physical disabilities.
- Provide 1:1 Support: Work closely with children requiring tailored interventions, including a child who uses a wheelchair.
- Cover Lessons: Step into the classroom as needed, ensuring smooth delivery of lessons in the absence of the teacher.
- Collaborate with Staff: Support teachers, parents, and other TAs to develop and implement individual learning plans.
- Use Specialist Skills: Utilise your experience with manual handling, hoist training, and Team Teach strategies to provide comprehensive support.
- HLTA qualification (essential).
- Significant experience working with children with SEN in either mainstream or SEN schools.
- Expertise in supporting children with Autism, SEMH, and physical disabilities.
- Knowledge of manual handling, hoist training, or similar skills (desirable).
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques such as Team Teach (preferred).
- A caring, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
