Houseman / Groundsman

Tiger Private is seeking a Houseman/Groundsman for a property in Virginia Water. This position involves reporting directly to the Operations Manager and taking responsibility for various maintenance tasks across the property in Virginia Water and on occasion, a property in London. The Houseman will oversee the heating and boiler systems, including ground or air source heat pumps, thermostats, and underfloor heating, ensuring they are properly maintained. Additional responsibilities include painting and decorating as needed, roof and gutter maintenance, such as removing leaves, clearing debris, and trimming climbers to prevent blockages. The role also involves checking drains and septic tanks, coordinating with external contractors when necessary, and troubleshooting electric gates and other electrical systems like lights, Wi-Fi, TVs, Sonos, air conditioning units, and kitchen appliances. Regular testing of fire and security systems, including alarms and CCTV, is a key part of the role. The Houseman will also run errands for the family, perform leaf blowing on driveways, and assist the household team with heavy lifting tasks, such as moving furniture, boxes, and artwork. They will help set up events, clean hard-to-reach areas, and manage rubbish removal. Other duties include chopping wood, maintaining firewood supplies, servicing bikes, checking and maintaining the family boat, cleaning windows and skylights, and ensuring the garden irrigation system is functioning properly. The Houseman may need to arrange for external contractors and could be required to attend security callouts. Occasional garden tasks, such as watering, weeding, and lawn mowing, may also be required. Candidates must have a valid right to work in the UK and a UK driving license due to the property's location.Tiger is B Corp Certified.
