Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Allocations Officer for a Local Authority Client based in West London.

In this role, you will be responsible for allocating emergency and temporary accommodation, ensuring compliance with housing legislation, minimizing void turnaround times, and providing housing advice and support to residents.

Key Duties:

  • Assess and place homeless households in suitable emergency and temporary housing while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Work with colleagues and providers to quickly let properties, reduce revenue loss, and improve efficiency in the allocation process.
  • Offer guidance to residents on housing options, tenancy management, and social housing, ensuring they receive the right support.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor performance against KPIs, respond to inquiries and complaints, and ensure legal and policy adherence.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience in housing legislation, policies, and allocating emergency or temporary accommodation.
  • Proven ability to assist vulnerable residents, provide housing advice, and manage sensitive cases.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate records, analysing performance data, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Experience working with partners, resolving housing issues, and negotiating solutions effectively.

What's on offer:

Salary: £22+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
