The role

Are you passionate about making a positive impact through high-quality Human Resources (HR) services? At Southwark Council, we are looking for two dedicated HR Assistants to be a cornerstone of our operational People Services advisory team. Join us and help shape the future of our workforce in a large, dynamic public sector organisation! In this pivotal role, you will support the HR Service Team, providing operational administration support and guidance. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that admin support is timely, seamless, and accurate in meeting the needs of both our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our HR transactional team by responding to queries from staff and managers across a range of People Services.
  • Provide timely administration support to direct enquiries to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and offer admin support on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters.
  • Your role will involve building effective relationships with various stakeholders.
  • You’ll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our HR services, ensuring that we always strive for excellence.

How will you make an impact as our HR Assistant?  

  • Practical Administration experience with a good level of numeracy is essential for success in this role.
  • A willingness to work towards CIPD certification is preferable as you build a career in HR.
  • The ability to respond to enquiries from managers and employees, supporting with HR policies and regulations to provide clear, concise guidance.
  • The capability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards of attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
  • Your expertise in Microsoft Office 365 will enable you to work seamlessly in our fully digital, agile workplace.
  • This role offers flexible home working blended with travel into our London Bridge HQ.
