Role Overview:
The HSW Advisor will be instrumental in controlling occupational risks and fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing. This role involves close collaboration with employees, employers, staff representatives, and directors to communicate and implement safe systems and procedures. The successful candidate will ensure legal compliance, manage systems to minimise workplace injuries and accidents, and support the maintenance of company accreditations. Projects include: Residential, Commercial, Healthcare and Data Centres
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Safety, Health, and Wellbeing policies, procedures, and training programmes.
- Provide expert advice to staff and managers, enabling them to fulfil their health, safety, and wellbeing responsibilities.
- Conduct site inspections and audits, developing KPI strategies to enhance safety performance.
- Liaise effectively with Principal Contractors, ensuring high levels of communication and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor sub-contractors' performance, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Stay updated with safety legislation, ensuring continual compliance and implementing measures to prevent workplace incidents.
- Maintain personal Continual Professional Development (CPD) by attending relevant seminars and briefings.
- Manage IT systems and project templates, delivering necessary documentation to site teams.
- Support quality standards and ensure departmental compliance with document control standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a health, safety, and wellbeing advisory role.
- Strong knowledge of safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in conducting site inspections and audits.
- Proficiency in IT systems and document management.
