Immigration Caseworker - (Legal Aid & Privately Funded)

Salary £32,000 - £45,000

City of London

An award winning and friendly Legal 500 firm based in the city centre and recognised in multiple directories for their immigration work is looking for an established immigration caseworker to join their busy team. They offer a diverse caseload of private (making up the majority) and legal-aid immigration matters including visa applications, leave to remain and European applications, asylum cases, trafficking cases, bail applications, judicial reviews and other matters. This is an exciting opportunity for a caseworker or junior solicitor to develop their career in a friendly firm offering competitive renumeration.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting immigration cases for initiation to conclusion.
  • Assisting partners and senior lawyers with their caseload of files dealing effectively with a variety of matters.
  • Input and assist with the development of the department.
  • Dealing directly with clients and maintaining the highest standard of care, taking instructions and ensuring full compliance.
  • Managing applications to the LAA when necessary.
  • Attending court hearings and representing clients in immigration hearings.

Skills and Experience:

  • Caseworker (or Solicitor) to OISC Level 2 or 3 or IAAS Level 2.
  • 2 years’ experience or PQE in immigration law to include some recent experience of working with the LAA.
  • Proven experience of managing immigration matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • A passionate personality with an enthusiasm for developing their team and greater firm.
