Robert Half have partnered with a rapidly growing events organisation (based in Central/North London) to find them an experienced Project Manager to oversee the development of a new mobile app. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing app development projects and ideally some familiarity with the events sector.

Length: An initial 3-month contract with the potential to extend, subject to performance and project requirements.

Determination: Outside IR35

Rate: DOE

Office Attendance: 5 days a week on site

Start date: 16th December 2024

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the iOS and Android app development project, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Work closely with external developers, designers, QA specialists, and internal stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of the project.
  • Develop detailed project plans and timelines, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are clearly defined.
  • Use Monday.com to organise workflows, monitor progress, and communicate updates effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and address risks to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the events industry to ensure the app meets their specific requirements.
  • Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, offering transparency on timelines, challenges, and achievements.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record in managing mobile app development projects for both iOS and Android.
  • Familiarity with agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Previous exposure to the events sector is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills, with a focus on managing resources, timelines, and budgets.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.

Desirable Skills

  • A technical understanding of app development, including APIs, UX/UI design, and testing processes.
  • Ideally some experience with Monday.com.
  • Experience with event-specific technologies such as ticketing systems or live streaming tools.
  • Knowledge of app store compliance standards and submission processes.
