Knitwear Designer Key Responsibilities

Design and Trend

  • Create strong trend-driven, innovative and commercial knitwear collections for both customer account/s and range collections, identifying opportunities to maximise sales.
  • Conduct continual trend and competitor research, store visits, and report insights to ensure collections remain relevant, exciting and innovative.
  • Present designs to customers, plan and attend meetings, and incorporate feedback into follow up work to meet customer expectations.
  • Oversee the design process, meeting critical deadlines to ensure quality.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of knit construction, yarns, gauges & production.
  • Develop detailed CADs and tech packs to ensure designs are technically sound and meet quality standards.

Travel

  • Participate in UK and international shopping/sourcing trips and yarn fairs, to gather inspiration and trends along with development trips,

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in knitwear design with a strong commercial trend portfolio.
  • Illustrator and CAD software, creating detailed tech packs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relations skills.
