Lead GCP DevOps Engineer

As the Lead GCP DevOps Engineer, you’ll take ownership of this firm’s Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and lead a small, talented DevOps team on their mission to build scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud systems. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll play a key role in defining cloud architecture, streamlining processes, and coaching your team towards success—all while staying hands-on with tools and platforms to deliver real results.

You’ll work at the intersection of finance and technology, helping this investment firm maintain its competitive edge by driving excellence in cloud automation, performance, and scalability.

Skills & Requirements:

This role is perfect for an experienced Google Cloud DevOps professional looking for their next big leadership challenge. We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 7+ years of relevant DevOps experience, including extensive experience with cloud-based infrastructure.
  • 2+ years managing or leading DevOps teams, with a proven ability to mentor and inspire engineers.
  • Strong expertise in GCP, with hands-on experience across services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Advanced skills in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, with excellent knowledge of CI/CD tools and strategies.
  • Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and orchestration solutions like Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud security and compliance frameworks.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bonus: Previous experience working in investment management or the broader financial services industry.
