Ryder Reid Legal is currently recruiting for a Legal Cashier to join one of our prestigious law firm clients on a 6m fixed-term contract at their London office. In this role, you will work closely with the Cashiering Manager, Junior Cashier, and Accounts Payable. You will handle routine cashiering tasks, focusing on the client account, and provide cover for the Cashiering Manager and Junior Cashier in their absence.

Cashiering:

  • Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and report breaches to the Cashiering Manager.
  • Perform daily office account and client account bank reconciliations; review reconciliations in the Cashiering Manager's absence.
  • Daily review of the client account, identify and allocate receipts, and transfer to office account.
  • Process CHAPS/BACS and post to client and office ledgers.
  • Transfer time, disbursements, and expenses between matters within SLA time frames.
  • Process journals on client account, office account, and nominal ledger.
  • Calculate manual interest on client account balances and credit interest to client account.
  • Maintain special time rates.
  • Handle aged client account balances.
  • Liaise with fee earners and resolve accounting queries.

Billing:

  • Post bills and credit notes in compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and SLA.
  • Address day-to-day internal billing queries.
  • Process anticipated disbursements and manage payment of disbursements in accordance with Solicitor's Accounts Rules.
  • Prepare reconciliations and statistical information for clients.
  • Edit and reverse timesheets; convert time to non-chargeable.
