Our client is a niche commercial property law firm based in London’s West End. The Firm acts for housebuilders, property developers, investors, corporate landlords and high net individuals. Their work includes all aspects of real estate including residential developments, land acquisitions, offices, industrial estates, retail, business and shopping parks.

They are now looking for a Legal Cashier to assist the account’s function and client cashiering. The candidate will be working in a friendly and busy environment. The candidate will work in a close-knit team. The Firm currently use the services of Cashroom (an outsourced cashiering company) as additional support to assist with the volume of funds processed in particular for our housebuilder

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and circulation of incoming funds received via Cashroom portal.
  • Checking source of funds of incoming receipts.
  • Authorising and checking payments from Cashroom on RBS Bankline.
  • Ensure payments requests, receipts and transfers (inc. CTO) are posted to ledgers and bank PAyments are set up and authorised in a timely manner.
  • Assist with and provide cover to post approved purchase ledger invoices.
  • Assist with and provide cover to prepare payment runs, arrange authorisation and process Payment on online banking system.
  • Processing write offs in line with relevant authority levels.
  • Posting and payment of interest in accordance with interest policy.
  • Maintain electronic filing of all accounting information and saving of key accounting information into PMS.
  • Dealing with fee earner queries as they arise.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a legal finance department
  • Preferable to have knowledge of real estate or conveyancing work.
  • Excellent knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Clear understanding of all aspects of working in legal accounts.
