A Legal Manager is required to oversee and manage legal issues relating to the growth, operations and governance of this Data Centre Business. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting agreements, managing risk, and ensuring the company's legal compliance.

Our client is well-established organisation in the technology and telecoms industry with over 1,000 employees. They are headquartered in London and have a strong presence in the UK market. Their main focus is on providing Data Center solutions to their customers.

Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Support on major client negotiations and to lead contract negotiations on smaller opportunities to assist with major supplier contract negotiations and to lead negotiation/approval of minor supply contracts.
  • Manage, negotiate construction (NEC, JCT) contracts
  • Act as initial commercial point of contact in respect of supplier contracting/buying queries.
  • Lead the commercial work relating to joint ventures
  • Assist the Operations and Growth teams on bid preparation with a particular emphasis on ensuring the quality and consistency of the bid documentation.
  • Assist with major corporate activity (such as acquisitions), act as commercial/legal lead on elements of routine corporate activity (such as wayleaves).
  • Act as initial commercial point of contact in respect of general queries from the operations and finance teams.
  • Write and review policies, processes, procedures and publicity/marketing materials or relevant elements of the same.
  • Provide legal support to the Company Secretary.
  • Provide general legal advice to the business and instruct and supervise external lawyers as required by the Business.

Profile

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified lawyer - likely to have at least three years Post Qualification Experience and be qualified in the UK (or another Commonwealth Jurisdiction)
  • Have experience of: Commercial, Construction, Property and Compliance matters
  • Be eligible for Security Clearance (resident in the UK for the last 5 years)

Desirable:

  • In-house experience gained in the defence, construction or engineering sectors
  • An enthusiasm to work on commercial matters (outside the scope of a normal legal counsel role).
