We have partnered with a leading client in the financial services sector in their search for a Linux Administrator. They are seeking a talented Linux Administrator to join their dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an international, 24x7 support operation focused on driving automation and delivering cutting-edge solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing *nix-related technologies across a global estate. With a strong emphasis on automation, the role requires collaboration within a highly skilled team to deliver seamless project execution and strategic technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain, and enhance *nix-related systems, with a focus on Red Hat and Solaris environments.
  • Provide 24x7 support internationally as part of a collaborative team.
  • Implement automated solutions aligned with departmental strategic goals.
  • Deliver projects efficiently, ensuring best practices in system performance and security.
  • Drive a DevOps mentality with a focus on continuous improvement.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Red Hat and Solaris Expertise: In-depth knowledge, including system internals and kernel tuning.
  • Automation Tools: Proficiency with Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, AWX, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Scripting: Strong skills in Python, Perl, and Bash.
  • Networking & Storage: Excellent understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP), storage technologies, and database layers.
  • Security: Advanced knowledge of CIS benchmarks, GDPR, SOX compliance, and security auditing.
  • Tools & Integration: Experience with Git, REST API integration, clustering, high-availability technologies, replication, and disaster recovery.

Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with ServiceNow automation and integration.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, Subversion, and TeamCity.
  • Knowledge of CyberArk, Splunk, QRadar, and Qualys.
  • Familiarity with Salt Stack, DNS, and ESX VMWare.
  • Hands-on experience with Nutanix HCI, EMC and HDS storage arrays, and disaster recovery tools like EMC Networker and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager.
