Job Title: Locum CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health) Consultant Psychiatrist

Location: N1, London, UK

Contract: Temporary Locum Contract (6 months)

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 2 days remote, 3 days on-site)

Our client is dedicated to delivering high-quality mental healthcare and expanding their services to provide in-person treatment for children and adolescents. Job Description:

As a CAMHS Consultant, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise within a 12-bed inpatient unit. You will assess, diagnose, and manage complex mental health conditions in children and adolescents while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. This role requires a balance of direct patient care and remote consultations to ensure a comprehensive and accessible service for young individuals in need of mental health support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualised treatment plans for children and adolescents.
  • Provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Offer psychiatric interventions, including medication management and therapeutic approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and external professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • Supervise and support junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the unit.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be a UK-registered doctor on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Ideally possess Approved Clinician (AC) Status.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a consultant (newly qualified consultants will also be considered).
  • Right to work in the UK is essential.
  • Ability to complete DBS, ID verification, training, and compliance checks as required.
