Are you an experienced Year 1 Teacher with QTS seeking an exciting, long-term opportunity in a vibrant primary school? Dunbar Education is working with a fantastic primary school in Haringey that is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their team. This role is not open to ECTs, so we are looking for a teacher with proven experience in delivering high-quality education to Key Stage 1 students.



About the Role:

  • Position: Year 1 Teacher
  • Location: Haringey, London
  • Pay Rate: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)
  • Contract: Full-time, long-term position (Monday to Friday)

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the academic and personal growth of your students. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in teaching Year 1 or Key Stage 1 and be able to confidently deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum, whilst creating a nurturing and positive learning environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and engaging lessons that cater to the needs of Year 1 students
  • Assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform and adapt your teaching
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel confident to explore and learn
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach to teaching and learning
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in Year 1 or Key Stage 1 (this role is not open to ECTs)
  • Strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and best practices in primary education
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and students
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to making a lasting impact on students' learning experiences
