Maintenance Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join our team, supporting the management of approximately 800 properties in the Tower Hamlets area. This role is crucial for overseeing our Asset Management Programme, ensuring Building and Resident Health and Safety, and handling Maintenance administration.



Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the Maintenance Operations (30%) and Asset Management (70%).
  • Conduct Stock Condition Surveys one day per week.
  • Take the lead on Capital Works projects, including refurbishments of internal and external domestic properties.
  • Full responsibility for managing a range of external contractors on site.
  • Assist with the procurement of new contracts as required.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislative practices applicable to Social Housing properties.
  • Manage routine inspections, liaising with tenants and contractors to ensure works are completed within specified time frames.
  • Manage and participate in the Maintenance emergency service, acting as the first point of call for out of hours.
  • Liaise with Senior Management to plan, manage, and monitor the Asset Management and Maintenance budget.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address any issues appropriately.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Property Management and Maintenance.
  • Understanding of current health and safety and housing legislation.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • High level of customer service skills.
  • Good telephone manner and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
  • Knowledge of the local area is helpful.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Chartered qualification is desirable but not essential.
